Analysis
「人しれず一人のみ恋れば苦しきにいひ出んとの心なり」(八代集抄)新抄 offers three readings: (1) I want you to hear my voice just like the bird, (2) I want you to respond to me the way the bird does, (3) I am calling (よぶ) for you, concludes with 猶はじめの説の方やおだやかならん.
